Fair Tax Reform
Let Working People Keep More
of What They Earn
The average American loses over 20% of their income to federal taxes before even counting property and sales taxes. For many, the current tax code feels like a second job just to figure out. Raising the standard deduction and simplifying tax brackets would let families keep more of each paycheck and reduce the need for costly tax services. Working a 40-hour week shouldn’t leave you behind.
Close Loopholes for the
Well-Connected
While regular folks pay their share, billionaires and large corporations often exploit the code with offshore shelters, complicated write-offs, or sweetheart provisions lobbied into law. We don’t need to raise taxes, we need to make sure everyone plays by the same rules. Cracking down on tax avoidance at the top would restore faith in the system and help fund real priorities without punishing the middle class.
Protect Family Homes from
Out-of-Control Property Taxes
In rural and suburban Minnesota alike, rising land values have pushed property taxes beyond what many homeowners, especially seniors, can afford. That turns home ownership into a yearly financial fight. It’s time to cap property tax hikes on primary residences and family farms, and expand relief programs that protect long-time owners from being taxed out of their homes.
Cut Waste Before Asking for
Another Dime
Before Washington talks about raising taxes or slashing essential programs, it needs to get its own house in order. From $1.7 trillion omnibus packages loaded with pork to millions lost in fraudulent pandemic aid, the federal government has a spending problem, not a revenue problem. A full audit of federal waste and stricter oversight of high-risk programs is long overdue.
